Beethoven Virus

20 09 2008

The drama started airing on the 3rd September. I was only interested in it because of Jang Geun Suk but after reading the plot sounds pretty interesting too.

“Kim Myung Min will be playing Kang Gun Woo, an orchestra conductor in his 40’s. His character is an elite conductor with a very bad reputation, and who will do absolutely anything in order to create the very best music. But due to his self-righteous and stubborn personality that makes him think only his thoughts are correct, he is unable to form good relationships with those around him. Also, he is an elite conductor who insists that classical music is made for nobility only.

Gun Woo is a ‘workaholic’ and has a very troublesome personality, and thus seems similar to the character of Jang Joon Hyuk in the drama “White Tower”. Kim Myung Min has gotten the opportunity to harden his acting skills by playing another unique character. “Beethoven Virus” draws the story of people who’ve been abandoned by music, and have abandoned music themselves, and who create an orchestra and encounter many difficulties. This story will concentrate on classical music, and thus brings to mind the popular Japanese manga “Nodame Cantabile”.” *Summary taken from Soompi

I seriously look forward to this but with school starting and all, I may not be able to watch it till..
Lol school isn’t going to stop me, but it should!
Episode 1 is already available on Mysoju

The Internet

20 09 2008

I must have been around the age of 7 when I had my first computer. The internet wasn’t as widely used then but I was still provided with a lot of entertainment. I’ve never really thought it about it before that I might be spending too much time in front of the computer. Sad to say, the computer is now part of my life and my daily routines.

The internet provides us with masses of information, endless entertainment and if you can find it “anything” you want. You can also buy products you may never find in shops and most of the time at a cheaper price. Talking to people online is so simple with so many ways to do it via instant messaging, blogs and forums. So why would you want to get off it?

My main concern is probably my eyes. Staring at the computer for an endless amount of time is damaging my eyes pretty bad. Other health reason is you are not really getting the appropriate amount of exercise if you are sitting in front of the computer all day. It is not just physically damaging your body but in some cases it could affect you mentally. I’m not saying you could end up in a mental institution but it can definitely change your thinking about somethings, for the better or worse.  With many people expressing their views on the internet, it is up to you to decide what you choose to believe. It is just as easy to influence people online as it is people face to face.

Hate to leave it just like that but.. until next time

Back to school

14 09 2008

I wonders how many people have titled their blog this?

It must have been a month since I came back from my holiday but I was too lazy to write. Not that I really had much to do anyway..

In less than 12 hours, I believe, I would be preparing myself for college. I seriously need a new belt. Normally I would look forward to this, because I am weird like that.. but I feel really scared and nervous. My grades were not what I had expected and I seriously hope I manage to enrol into the course I want to do. Better yet I hope I can retake my exam piece for my Photography. (Which reminds me, I still haven’t had a play with my new lens yet)

People around me always asks me what I would do for a living in the future. People are nosy by nature. I cannot say I am any different but I would rather not pry into other people’s business. Even if you know, what are you doing to do? Compare it to your own or child’s life?

I’m not much of a Philosopher and I find it difficult to put my thoughts in forms of words. However if you force a child or adult to say something they do not know it could change their path completely. Adults, children, people are curious. It is human nature. What would happen in the future. People start asking you from a young age, “what do you want to become when you are older? A doctor or a lawyer?”

At the age of 14, you must have some idea what you want to become for the rest of your life. The school makes us choose subjects we study for the next 2 years that may relate to what you want to do when you’re older.

At the age of 16 you need to know what you aspire to be and what grades and subject courses needed to achieve it.

At 18, university, you are set for life. You MUST know what you want to be.

Of course not everybody experiences this.. I had a friend who tried to rebel this fate pressed on to him by his parents. He quit is school, spends his time wondering round places and craves the word “Freedom”

But just how are you free? I don’t believe I’m depressed or anything, but freedom does not exist in my mind. We are forever confined.

Relationships with family, friends or love ones ties us down one way or another. Even if you are completely alone, the world confines you. (More like you clinging onto it)

Putting confinement in more prettier words, we can call in connections or networks. In ugly words it is also a chain or a shackle. We these are nice ties we can gain things but when the ties go bad, it will do nothing more than tie you down.

Wow.. my back to school post doesn’t seem to contain much about school..

I apologise if I crushed anyone’s hopes and dreams about “Freedom” or offended anyone with my rambling.
